Hearts to Serve
2017-2018 was another successful year for the FEAST Student Council! Throughout the year the Student Council members happily served their community and the FEAST Student Body in many different ways. They helped the hurricane victims with Lowe’s Gift Cards, blessed others with Thanksgiving Baskets, helped collect Operation Christmas Child boxes, wrapped Christmas gifts for Elf Louise, made beautiful Valentine Cards for children of the Joni & Friends Program, served as “Buddies” to the guests of Night to Shine Event and packed many lunches and breakfast meals at Meals on Wheels.
Student Council also served the families at FEAST by having a “Thank You” day in which they gave cookies and a celebration of Easter in which they passed out Easter goodie bags. In March, the members had a great time leading an Elementary devotional. One of the great accomplishments for Student Council was the grand opening of the Snak-Shak on campus, which operated throughout the school year. They sold a variety of delicious snacks, Nachos and Brown lunch bag specials. It was amazing to see all the members helping and serving their peers. In addition to working hard at the Snak-Shak the members broke sales records in their Popcorn and Pizza fundraisers. Way to go Student Council!
Members also took time to grab their garden gloves and tools and worked hard to finish their FEAST Beautification Projects. They cleaned and planted in two garden areas, leaving them looking great!
Student Council held an Officers Election for the 2018- 2019 FEAST Co-op Year. After being interviewed by the advisors, the candidates promoted their candidacy by making posters and passing out treats. The election took place on April 5, 2018, and the new Officers were introduced and prayed for during devotionals. Congratulations to our 2018-2019 elected officers:
• President: Savannah Stutevoss
• Vice President: Grace Brucks
• Secretary: Andrew Escobedo
• Public Relations: Jessica Brucks
Not all was work for the members; they joyfully celebrated the graduating members with a beautiful gift and delicious cake, and to close the year they had a great time playing and eating at Main Event. Not even the stormy weather was going to stop our members from having an awesome time!
As we move into the 2018-2019 the new officers and returning members look forward to another amazing year in which they can welcome new members and continue to learn leadership skills, cooperation, team work, serving others, have fun and making lasting friendships. That is what FEAST Student Council is all about!
Students meet on Thursday from 12:00pm to 12:25pm at FEAST. If you have any questions or need more information, contact Student Council at email@example.com
